Floodlight Triples 2024

KIRKBYMOORSIDE BOWLING CLUB

 DAY/NIGHT FLOODLIGHT TROPHY 3 WOOD TRIPLES - (September 8th 2024)

 

Elmfield BC (Hebburn) were trophy winners with West Park BC (York) in second spot.

Runners-up consolation shield to third placed Thoronton Le Dale BC.

Competition Rules (revised August 2024}

1. The competition is for any combination of triples each playing with 3 woods. Teams will play 6 groups of 4 on a round robin basis. The winner of each group and the best 2 runners up {1 from each session}shall qualify for the quarter finals which will be played on a knock out basis to decide the overall winner of the tournament.

The remaining 4 teams will play for the CONSOLATION SHIELD.

2.  2 points will be awarded to winner of each game & 1 point for a draw. Zero points for a loss. If 2 or more teams are tied on points, then the best aggregate score will decide the winner. If aggregates are tied the team with highest shots for will be deemed the winner.

3.  All group games will be played over 50 minutes. The Quarter Finals, Semi Final and Final will be played over 40 mins.              

4.  All games will begin & end on the whistle. All games will be played over a maximum of 8 ends or 50 mins.(40mins quarter finals onwards).. If 8 ends have not been played when the final whistle blows, the end in progress will be the final end. For an end to be deemed in progress the jack must be set.

5.  If a team kills an end then their opponents will be awarded 2 shots.

6.  The Skip must leave the head when the lead and 2nd wood have bowled. Revisiting the head is not allowed.

7.  Scorecards must be handed in to the competition secretary after each game.

8.  In the event of a team being awarded a bye, that team shall be awarded 2 point plus 5 shots.

9.  Substitutes will be allowed at any time during the round robin stages. The substitute must lead. Substitutes thereafter will only be allowed for illness or injury during play. The substitute must lead.

10.  Dress will be grey/navy trousers  or BE approved shorts and predominantly white tops or club shirts.

11.  All competitors must report to Competition Secretary 15 minutes prior to their first game. Any team arriving after the start of their game will lose 2 shots for every 5mins they are late. After 15 minutes the team will forfeit the game. Their opponents will be awarded 2 pts + 6 shots.

12.  An official from the club will be designated as umpire. In the event of a dispute the umpire cannot resolve, the Competition Secretary shall rule and his decision shall be final.

13.  If the green becomes unplayable due to wet weather in the opinion of the Greenkeeper, his decision will be final, the competition will be postponed. Players playing on a wet surface do so at their own risk. The organiser and Kirkbymoorside BC can not be held responsible for personal injury. In the event of play being abandoned due to inclement weather. The competition will be completed on consecutive nights until completed.

14.  All players are reminded that there is strictly no smoking on the bowling club green or grounds. This includes Electronic cigarettes. Smoking is only allowed in the designated area outside the entrance gate.

15.  Cars and their contents parked in the car park are done so at their owners own risk. Also items left in the ladies and gents changing room and done at their owners risk. The organisers and Kirkbymoorside BC can not be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage.
